Shopping for school supplies can be very expensive. However, by shopping early and often, you can save a whole lot of money.
Stores start their back to school sales in July. Each store will have a handful of items on sale, including a few that is marked extremely low. The goal of these stores is to draw you in with a penny item with hopes that you will do all your back to school shopping with them. So you may save a few dollars on that item, but end up paying more for the rest of the items on your list.
If you shop weekly and only purchase the items that are marked down, you will save on your whole back to school list. To make things a little easier on you, I will be doing a weekly post on the best deals for school supplies for that week. You can shop all the stores to get the most savings, or pick the store that has the best deal for that week. I would recommend printing the post each week and highlighting the items you are interested in getting.
This is not just the time to be shopping for back to school. Now is also the time to stock up on your office supplies. I try to stock up on all these items to have through out the year and to also use as gifts and donations.
