I had mentioned earlier this month that I purchased advertising on FamilyFriendlyFrugality for the month of April. This was the first time I purchased advertising on another blog. I have been hesitant paying for advertising because I was not sure it would be worth the money.
I have been following FamilyFriendlyFrugality for a few months and have really found it to be extremely informative. When I read that Heather at FamilyFriendlyFrugality was going to start to offer ad space for the month of April for only $10 I decided to give it a try.

I had just started my Facebook page, MoneySavingSecrets, and had just 12 followers at the beginning of April. I now have 289 followers and know that the majority of them were referred by FamilyFriendlyFrugality.
In addition to promoting my Facebook page, Heather linked to an article I had written on my blog. This brought an extra 27 direct clicks to the article.
Advertising on FamilyFriendlyFrugality was the best decision. I have had a significant increase in traffic for the month of April, with FamilyFriendlyFrugality being my top referring site. According to Google Analytics, I received 178 visits just from FamilyFriendlyFrugality.
The biggest reason that advertising with FamilyFriendlyFrugality was so successful was because of all that Heather did. She did not just throw up our blog button on the sidebar and count her money. She promoted us, did a giveaway and linked back to our blogs in her posts. Having a link in a blog post not only gives you better odds on the reader clicking over to your blog then an ad on the sidebar but also is more relevant to Google.
I would highly recommend advertising on FamilyFriendlyFrugality. Heather goes above and beyond to make your experience a positive one.
