Guest Post-How to Save 50% on Every Restaurant Meal
This is a guest post written by Liz Cutten. Liz manages a newer coupon blog featuring promo codes, hot deals, and so much more!
Going out to eat can be awfully expensive, especially if you have kids. If you’re like me, you love to save, and since you’re on a coupon site right now, I wanted to give you some great tips on how you can save some killer money, no matter where you eat out. I wanted to give you some cool pointers that I use that allow me to save a ton of money!
#1 – Kids Eat Free
There are countless restaurants out there that allow your kids to eat free. If you have children that are 12, and under, I always recommend that you head out to a place that allows you to have your kids to eat for free. Do a Google search for “Kids Eat Free Restaurants”, and you’ll get an endless list of ideas.
#2 – Restaurant.com is GOLD
If you haven’t heard of this website yet, I highly recommend it. You can find little Mom and Pop shops, and sometimes corporate places in your area that are willing to give you gift cards for next to nothing. For example, there’s a little Mexican restaurant on the corner of my street. I was able to get a $10 gift card for $1.20! If you’re going to purchase from this site, make sure that you read the fine print with the restaurants, and also make sure that you search for coupon codes before you buy from them!
#3 – eBay!
I love eBay for just about anything. I can find coupons, gift cards at a discount, and so much more. Think of some of your favorite restaurants, and check what’s available on eBay. For example, a few months ago, I was able to snag 6 free appetizers to Outback Steakhouse. I only had to pay $3.39 for 6. If I would have bought 6 appetizers, this would have set me back at least $40-50. It never hurts to check, because you never know what you can find!
#4 – Free stuff via e-mail
Just about every restaurant out there has an e-mail club. Did you know that you can get free stuff just for signing up? I’ve done this countless times for just about every restaurant imaginable. For example, you can get a free appetizer at Texas Roadhouse for signing up, and other places offer Buy One, Get One free, and more!
#5 – Do a simple search
In this technological age, you can soon find out that there are countless printable coupons out there that you can grab right from your computer. If you want to eat out at Chili’s tonight, do a search online, and see what comes up. I just did it, and found that I could get free chips and queso for giving them my e-mail. Sounds like a good enough deal to me!
#6 – Entertainment book
The last thing that I will recommend is the Entertainment book. I love this book, and every year I honestly save $100s. Just this year alone, I’ve save $55. I know, I’m a nerd for keeping track, but I want to make sure that it’s worth it. In my neighborhood alone, there are hundreds of restaurants that I can head to and use buy one, get one free, and more!
I can almost guarantee you that if you work hard, and use these tips, you’ll be able to save a fortune the next time you go out, and eat. Sure, it’s going to take some planning, but you will soon find out that it will be well worth it!

SpellQuizzer is an education program designed to help children learn their spelling and vocabulary words without the battle. Parents often have trouble getting children to sit down and write out their words the parents dictate to them. As a parent, you enter the child’s spelling words into the software making a sound recording of each word. Then the software helps the child practice his or her words.

Yoplait Less Sugar, More Fun Prize Pack Giveaway- CLOSED

Are you searching for a snack for the kids that tastes good and is good for them? I know that I am. That is why I jumped at the opportunity I was offered by MyBlogSpark, to try Yoplait Kids yogurt.
My daughter loves yogurt but I often worry about giving it to her. I feel like I have to choose between a kids yogurt that is full of sugar or an adults yogurt that contains unhealthy artificial sweeteners.
Yoplait Kids yogurt is the perfect solution with 25% less sugar than the leading kids’ yogurt. It also contains no artificial sweeteners or flavors, so you can feel good about serving it to your kids.
Emma was very excited to get her new yogurt, especially with Dora on the container. She really loved the yogurt. I also loved that she was choosing a healthy snack over candy and sweets. The thick and creamy texture also made it easy for her to eat on her own without leaving me a mess to clean up afterwords.
In addition, Yoplait Kids is a good source of vitamin D and, according to two new studies that provide the first national assessment of the crucial nutrient in young Americans, millions of U.S. children have disturbingly low vitamin D levels, possibly increasing their risk for a variety of health concerns, including bone problems. It can be challenging for growing kids to get enough vitamin D because this nutrient is only found naturally in very few foods; however Yoplait Kids makes it a little easier to incorporate a delicious source of vitamin D and calcium in your child’s diet.
The best part is that you could also try Yoplait Kids yogurt for free. Two of my readers will receive the Yoplait Less Sugar, More Fun prize pack which includes a coupon for a Yoplait Kids yogurt, a travel cooler (to take your yogurt on-the-go), a fun spoon that changes colors in warm water, a reusable place mat with games to keep the kids happy while snacking, and a fuzzy tangle puzzle for some after-snack fun.

*This coupon offer for a free six pack of Yoplait Kids yogurt is not valid in some states, including Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota and Tennessee.
This giveaway will be open till November 18th.

Budget Friendly Kid Activities
If you watch any TV you will be led to believe that the only fun children can have involves the newest toy or the biggest theme park. Sure kids love those things, but they will have just as much fun playing with the box that fancy toy came in. I still buy toys for my daughter and pay for her to take gymnastics, but all of her other activities are completely FREE.
Our biggest resource of activities is the library. I seemed to have forgotten about this resource for awhile but familiarize myself with it again after having Emma. If you are on a limited budget the library is a great place to save some money while still having fun.
I used to love walking around the book store going through all the books. I would usually end up spending about $50 at each trip. Then after reading the books they would just sit somewhere taking up space until I gave them away. Now I just check a book out of the library and just return it when I am done. And it doesn’t cost me a thing. Plus it can all be done online now. So if I do not have time to look for a book I can find it online and have them pull and hold it for me. Could not be easier. Not sure of a good book to get, check out http://floridamuse.wordpress.com for some great book reviews.
Another great item to save money on is DVD rentals. They may not have as big of a selection as the movie store but again, it is free. Plus at my library they will show movies on days that kids are out of school. It gives kids something to do on their days off without emptying your wallet.
The library also offers some great classes and activities. I take my daughter to a playgroup and also story time. The playgroup runs throughout the school year and was a great opportunity for my daughter to play with other kids and also for me to meet other moms in the area. Emma also really loves story time. They read books, sing songs, dance and have crafts.
The classes are not just limited to kids. They offer a lot of great classes for all ages. There are different craft classes and gardening classes. There is definitely something for everyone.
So before spending money on activities or classes, head over to your local library and find out what they have going on. Your library card might just save you more money then all those other discount cards combined.
