Save on Back-to-School with the 2012 Entertainment Book

https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/?ui=2&ik=b99153ffea&view=att&th=13216ef16493393e&attid=0.1&disp=inline&zw

The new 2012 Entertainment Book is now available and good through November 1, 2012, unless stated otherwise on the offer, for the retail price of $35.00 per book.

I am a HUGE fan of the Entertainment Book and was very excited to receive a book to review  from Entertainment Promotions. Even at the retail price of $35, it is easy to pay for the book by just using a few coupons. My very favorite deal is a coupon for buy one dinner get one Free at my favorite restaurant, Dover Straits. My husband and I always go there for special occasions for a lobster dinner. With just that one coupon we save $15! However this years book also has a $25 coupon in it. So by just visiting this restaurant twice, we will have saved more then the book costs.

In addition to all the coupons available in the book, you can also save by using online printable coupons and online shopping. You can access these saving immediately after purchasing the book online. So if you purchase a book today, you will still be able to take advantage of all their back-to-school savings.

Your Entertainment membership has tons of back-to-school discounts from elementary school supplies to college necessities! Even if you waited until the last-minute, their list of discounts will make your shopping much easier! I have focused on purchasing school supplies, but have not really started buying new fall cloths for my kids. 15% off at The Children’s Place and an exclusive discount of buy one get one half off at Famous Footwear will really help me out.

https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/?ui=2&ik=b99153ffea&view=att&th=13216ef16493393e&attid=0.2&disp=inline&zw

The one downfall I have always had with the Entertainment Book was that I would miss out on so many of the savings. The book is so big and I would either not have it with me or would not realize there was even a coupon that I could be using. Well, this will no longer be a problem because they have created The Entertainment Book Companion Mobile App. By downloading this app on your smartphone, you will be able to easily find discounts near your current location. You can search by location, catagory or merchant. Once you find a deal you want, just grab your book and get the coupon. What is even more exciting is that coming in late September, you will be able to just show your phone and save at select locations without your coupon book.

Get your Entertainment Book early and give yourself more time to use all those coupons!

Disclaimer- I received a Free copy of the 2012 Entertainment Book in exchange for a review. However, the opinions expressed are completely mine.

Guest Post- Save on Back-to-School Supplies by Going Digital

academics,backpacks,book bags,education,notebooks,pencils,photographs,rulers,school supplies,schools
The world has gone digital. Everything is high definition, electronic, and Internet-accessible. This even applies to shopping for back-to-school supplies. The closer it gets to the beginning of the school year, the more crowded the malls and shopping centers become, filled with parents trying to find last-minute deals. It can rival the insanity of Black Friday. Why put yourself through that stress when you could shop from home, and save money? Here are a few ways to do just that when you’re getting ready to send your kids back to school.

School Supplies

While some schools may be moving toward fully computer-based teaching and learning, the majority of schools still do things the old-fashioned way—with paper and pencil, or at least pen. Kids still need notebooks, rulers, writing instruments, and a handful of other tools to get through the school day. Younger kids will need crayons, construction paper, and safety scissors. And don’t forget the glitter and glue.

The best places to find these supplies are at discount and big box stores such as Walmart, Target, and KMart where the inventory is broad, and the prices are low. You can save even more, though, with coupons and discount codes, and luckily, those stores all have websites. Find Walmart coupon codes or Target coupon codes, and you’ll save on school supplies. Even better, you’ll save a trip to the crowded store by doing your back-to-school shopping online. Some coupon codes will even cover shipping, while you’re also saving on the gas it would take to drive to the store. It’s win-win.

Clothes and Shoes

Ask your kids to try on the school clothes they wore just a few months ago, and you may be surprised to see how short the pants are, that they can’t button their shirts closed anymore, or their bellies poke out from under their pullovers. Kids grow so fast, you may sometimes wish it was still acceptable for them to just run around in their undies the way they did as toddlers. Until that happens, they need new clothes for school, but you don’t have to go broke buying a whole new wardrobe.

Forget dragging your kid from store to store to find clothes. That’s just torture for both of you. Kids’ sizes are pretty standard. Find a few items in your child’s closet that fit well, and use those sizes as your guidelines when you go online, and again, break out the coupon codes. Many stores offer them for clothing, and other school accessories. For example, Kohls promo codes can get you deals on school clothes, and things like backpacks and shoes. The fewer sites you have to go to, the better, right?

Textbooks

The back-to-school frenzy isn’t just for elementary, middle, and high school students. In fact, it may be even more stressful once your kids get to college. One semester’s worth of textbooks can easily cost as much as your kid’s entire wardrobe when he was going through puberty and seemed to grow in one direction or another every week. Okay, maybe that’s an exaggeration (a small one), but the fact is, textbooks are expensive.

Or are they? Traditional textbooks are, that’s for sure, and textbook publishers seem to enjoy making teeny, tiny changes in order to come out with new editions from year to year, semester to semester, to force students to have to keep up. Buying used textbooks has always been a good option for saving money, but now you can save even more by going digital. Many textbooks are now available on e-readers, for a fraction of what paper-bound textbooks cost. Before you hand over all that money to the campus bookstore, go online and check to see whether the textbooks required for your kid’s course of study are available in digital format. It may be worth buying them an e-reader for school.

Decide to do things a little differently this year by staying home to do your back-to-school shopping, and you’ll not only save money, you’ll save yourself a lot of aggravation and time.

Make Money Searching the Web

If you are looking to make money from home, there are many different ways to do it. The one thing that they all have in common is that none of them are going to make you rich. However,  you may be able to make some extra money by using multiple sources.

I have already touched upon completing surveys using cash back sites and mystery shopping. So far this year I have cashed out $213.47 between these three sources.

Another way to make some extra money is with Reward Sites. There are many different type of reward sites. Today I am going to talk about sites that you can make money with by searching the web. Just log into the site or download their toolbar and start earning points by doing normal searches.

My top 3 sites to make money by searching the web-

1. SwagBucks- You can randomly win SwagBucks by doing searches on your SwagBucks toolbar. You will also earn 1 SB a day just for using the toolbar.

Other ways to earn with Swagbucks-
*Finding Codes
*Shopping Online
*Printing & Redeeming Coupons
*Completing Offers
*Playing Games
*Trade Ins
*Surveys
*Referring Friends

You can use your Swagbucks towards gift cards or prizes. PayPal is an option, but you get a better value if you use your SB to purchase amazon gift cards.

I have earned $15 in Amazon gift cards so far this year with SwagBucks.

2. MyPoints- You can earn up to 75 points a month for doing searches. You will also earn 100 points by downloading the toolbar.

Other ways to earn points-
*Shopping Online
*Reading E-mails
*Playing Games
*Taking Surveys
*Referring Friends

You can use your points to get gift cards, including Paypal. I normally save my points all year and then use them to get gift cards for Christmas gifts. I am usually able to get at least one $25 gift card a year just by doing searches and reading e-mails.

3. Bing- Earn 1 credit per 10 searches until July 2nd. Download the toolbar to be able to see credits earned and available offers.

Other ways to earn credits-
*Trying New Features

Use your credits towards prizes and gift cards. get 250 credits when you sign up.

Other sites-
Zoombucks

Make Money Shopping Online With Cash Back Sites

I have spent a lot of time talking about how you can make money from home by completing surveys. You may not get rich from them, but I think I have shown that they are worth the time to complete them. So far this year I have made $127.26 from completed surveys and have cashed out $86.90.

To really make an impact on how much money you make, you really need to have multiple income sources. Now that you have a list of 10 different survey companies to join(check sidebar for list), I want to move onto Cash Back sites.

I frequently add cash back sites to my online deal posts. If you are not familiar with these sites then let me explain. Instead of going directly to a retail website to make an online purchase, you will first go to one of these cash back sites. I have a few sites I use regularly, so I will check each one by doing a search of the store I am wanting to make a purchase from. Once I find the site that offers the most cash back on my purchase, I will click through to the store site and shop as normal. The only difference is that I will receive a percentage back from the cash back site.

Why do they do this?

Well they are receiving a commission by you using their link to shop at these stores. They are just sharing a percentage back to you on what they are making. So it really is a win-win.

Another way to make money from these sites is by referring others to use them also. Some will pay you $5 when your referrer makes their first purchase and others will pay you a percentage of your referrers cash back.

Here is a list of my favorite sites:

ShopAtHome- You will receive $5 for joining and also another $5 for everyone you refer once they make their first purchase. You will receive a check once your account reaches $20. Checks are mailed on a monthly schedule.

I have made $35.73 so far this year and a total of $145.98 from ShopAtHome since joining 2 years ago.

Mr. Rebates- You will receive $5 for joining and also 20% of all your referrals cash back. You can request a check or payment through PayPal once your available rebates hit $10. Payments will be sent on the first of the month.

I have made $88.41 so far this year and a total of $299.22 from Mr. Rebates since joining 2 years ago.

BigCrumbs- This is the only site that offers a cash back on your purchases at Ebay. If you sell on Ebay, you can also list your store on BigCrumbs to increase your exposure. Not only will you receive a percentage of your referrals purchases but will also receive a percentage of their referrals purchases. You will receive a payment every month your account is over $1 through PayPal or on a BigCrumbs Prepaid Mastercard.

I have made $.38 so far this year and a total of $2.04 since joining BigCrumbs 2 years ago.

Ebates- You will receive $5 when you make your first purchase and also $5 for each new qualified referral. You will receive payment once you have earned over $5.01 from purchases. Payments are sent out every 3 months by PayPal or check.

I have made $12.38 so far this year from Ebates.

Cash Back for the Year- $136.90

Since most of these sites have a threshold before you will receive a payment, I would reccomend only using a couple. That way you will not have a small amount of money in a lot of accounts and will receive a payment quicker.
